“Associating with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is a surreal experience” – Dilip Joshi
How does it feel to be a part of SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma?
Blessed! Any actor in today’s time would love to switch places with us because of the kind of popularity and the longevity of this show. Television has never seen such a thing. Really fortunate and really blessed to be a part of such a humungous show with a wonderful team and we are really enjoying it.
How excited are you for the completion of 2000 episodes?
It’s such a surreal experience. When I got up in the morning and I realized it is 28th of July 2016, I remembered the day when the first episode was about to be aired, we were hoping that it works out. I never thought it would go on for so long. 2000 episodes for a comedy show is a big thing.
How has your experience been shooting with all the co-actors?
*Touchwood*, the team is so good and that’s the key factor for the show for still going so strong. Except for a few replacements, the whole team is the original one that shows the amount of solidarity we have between us and the amount of respect we have for each other. We enjoy working with each other.
Your message to the fans on the occasion of completing 2000 episodes?
This wouldn’t have been possible without our fans. They have been watching it for eight years, so whatever we are creating is for the viewers.
You have been with the show since its inception, tell us the most memorable experiences?
So many imagine 2000 episodes, and to pick and choose is very difficult. If I had to name, yes the Pakistan story was good and one of my favorite ones is when Daya stops talking to Jethalal. Another one would definitely be the Bhootni episode and the one where a tempo gets stuck in the Gokuldham society compound.
