In conversation with Aditi Sajwan!
Playing the character of Koyal in Chidiyaghar, Aditi Sajawan has sported multiple looks with different hair, makeup, and costumes. Each and every character that Aditi has played on the show has challenged her to achieve perfection. Here are some excerpts from the interview.
Tell us about your role as Koyal in Chidiya Ghar?
The character of Koyal is very beautiful in the show and is pivotal in taking the story forward. Every week, there is a new story in the life of Chidiya Ghar family members and by way of comic relief, we showcase critical life lessons and propagate them without being preachy.
How many different looks have you carried in the show? How have you prepared for each look?
I can’t give a number to the number of looks I have played in the show. But I have portrayed the role of a rock band singer, stage dancer, goon, old lady, a village belle, Naga jungle girl, Marathi mulgi, deer, sage, lord ram, etc. For each of my look, there has been some amount of preparation that has gone in terms of my acting, voice, mannerisms, hair and costumes.
How has your experience in performing so many roles as an actor been?
This is the first show that has given me the opportunity to play varied characters and looks. It’s been a learning experience and a really enjoyable one. I feel that I am doing theater here as I get to experiment with many different avatars, without any inhibitions, because the flavor of the show is comedy, and we can go to extremes while acting. My favorite look so far has been when I played Lord Ram and grown up Gillu (Koyal’s Son).
How do you feel to be associated with a show that has completed 5 years?
It’s a matter of great honor and pride to be associated with such a beautiful show which has completed its 5-year milestone and it’s going great and strong even today. We have a dedicated and loving fan base. I’m very happy and elated with this landmark achievement. In today’s time, we don’t see many shows running strong for so many years and still being loved by one and all.
Good-luck Aditi!
