Shirin Sewani on willing to make a comeback to TV after 6 years
Lately, there have been plenty of stories about how actors are making their comebacks/returns to the small screen with different shows.
That is the kind of story actor Shirin Sewani would also like to be a part of ideally. Sewani was last seen in the show Kawach in 2016 and now she wants to get back to television.
However, she also is sure she wants to break the monotony and do something challenging. Talking about it with ETimes TV, Sewani said, “My last show was Kawach and I want to explore new genres. I want to do roles where I get to play a different character and something that is at least a little challenging. I don’t want to do something which id monotonous. I hope I get an opportunity to create a character with my performance.”
She mentioned though that social media is a space she is extremely thankful for, “I feel a lot of gratitude for all the love and support that I get online. Yes, it takes a lot of energy to create content regularly, but when you see people’s response, you automatically get motivated. When people message me that they are having a hard time or a bad day and my video made them laugh or just put a smile on their face, I feel that all the hard work is worth it.”

Ahe talked about how she like to be referred to as an actor or a content creator, “an artist I think there should be no barrier at all. i have worked on all mediums and I feel that at the end of the day, it’s the script, concept, story and characters that are important and not the medium. good content can be created and is being created everywhere. I don’t understand why people categorise a person as tv actor or a film actor or a theatre artist. it should not be like that, we need to stop using such terms.”
She concluded, “We need to consciously make an effort towards this, only then will these tags be eradicated. In the west, an artist is an artist, no bifurcations or tags are attached. that is how it should be. We still have a long way to go, but I am sure every actor wants to be known as an artist, irrespective of the medium. so I hope to see this change soon.”
