Web series review: Girl In The City!
The number of Indian web series have gone drastically up in the last year. With a number of web series available for the viewers, it is difficult to segregate the good ones. But, there is this one series that has caught our eyes off guard and has managed to stands apart from the lot. Produced by Bindass, Girl In The City is a web series that we can truly relate to. It seems like the story of a person we all have in our life; that one person for whom Mumbai is their dream city. After years of convincing her parents and finding a place to stay, the girl finally settles down, only to be haunted by her office trouble and the roommate affairs.
Girl In The City is the story of that friend who is here to make her mark; the girl who has the worst luck possible and the one who always cribs how her boss keeps nagging at work. It is the story of the girl who lives next door, whose distant parents constantly keep a check on her to see if she is all right. It is about her journey and the battles on the roads of Mumbai, on her pretty red scooter.
The series has been shot with elegance. It has been shot in cramped spaces which will make you feel like you are actually a part of the scene. The direction is very creative. The screenplay is very fast and it manages to keep the viewers hooked. We couldn’t stop watching the series after we saw a couple of episodes, because of the ‘What’s next’ factor.
The actors in the series seem to be a hand-picked lot of people, ideal for their roles. Mithila Palkar, who plays the girl in the city is fabulous at her job. One thing we can say for sure is that the girl is going places!
The best thing about this series are the life lessons learned and all those moments of self-realization.
